Mark co-leads PA’s sustainability and circular economy activity, spanning client work on sustainability strategies and new business models, embracing disruptive technologies and materials, and developing new product and packaging designs and manufacturing processes. He works with start-ups, corporates, NGOs and government bodies and manages PA’s engagement with both the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Circular Economy 100 initiative, and the UN Global Compact’s Project Breakthrough.
A business design expert by trade, Mark helps organisations to redesign their business models and transform to new operating models. Design challenges have included designing for sustainability, circularity, growth, simplicity, innovation, digital, and cost efficiency. Mark is an associate lecturer at Ashridge Management School running a three-day Executive Programme on ‘Designing Operating Models’ and co-author of the ‘The Operating Model Canvas’ book.
Currently, Mark is leading a collaborative project with Cranfield University, Exeter Business School, and CE100 organisations, developing a circular business model design guide, and researching approaches to capture financial value in the circular economy.
