Kay began her career in commercial roles for Nestlé Rowntree and Johnson & Johnson, followed by a decade in international strategy consultancy. Concurrently, she was a Non-Executive Director and Audit Chair for an NHS Primary Care Trust, supporting significant financial turnaround. In 2009 Kay moved to the charity sector as Shelter’s Director of Campaigns, Policy and Communications.
In October 2013 Kay became Chief Executive of Asthma UK, leading the organisation through digital transformation and cross sector partnerships. She is currently a lay member of Council for Durham University, Trustee of the Association of Medical Research Charities and member of the Kings Fund General Advisory Council.
