Emma has been leading digital in government for over five years. She began her journey in government at the Government Digital Service, moving to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy in 2015. In 2017, she started working at the Department for Education as Director of Transformation and Digital and Chief Digital Officer. She is a leader of cultural change and service delivery and has worked all over the world and in both the public and private sectors. Prior to working in government, Emma lived in Sydney, Australia from 2008 to 2012 which forever changed her appreciation of good coffee.
